Studios are led by certified teachers of the Michael Chekhov Technique through The Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium, including Bevin Bell-Hall, Alan Matthew Miller, and Patricia Legare. We meet every second Sunday January through May to teach the tools of the Michael Chekhov technique and explore Fantastic Psycho-Physical Realism - an exciting, whole being, ever evolving "-ism" with roots back to the Moscow Art Theatre. The aim of FREE OPEN STUDIOS is to hone skills immediately applicable in all forms of theatre arts,  practice physically and verbally articulating our imagination, awaken our "creative spirit" and align our minds, feelings and will. Every studio will focus on a different tool, so you can join us anytime that you are free and open! No experience necessary, we are truly open level!

Our technique is out loud and on our feet! Please wear clothing that allows for free and expressive movement. We prefer to work barefoot. Also, a water bottle is recommended.

We do suggest a $15 donation and we gratefully accept what you can afford or wish to contribute. We can accept cash after studio or debit/credit card donations on our SUPPORT PAGE. We are currently raising funds for our second rep season, including new works by talented, emerging playwrights. Your investment in us means the world, friends, but know that your presence is our greatest gift and no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
